Gloeocapsa Magma is an Algae that thrives on your Roof. The black streaks running down your roof isn't your shingles dissolving, it's Algae. Asphalt shingles contain Limestone, which the Algae feeds on. This over time degrades your Roof. The Algae cells produce a dark pigment that protects them from the sun, this in-turn attributes to a hotter surface on your Roof.
